Dear translators,

First of all, many thanks! Since we moved to Weblate, we have seen the number of translation contributions jumping and we want to thank you all for the time spent for making Siril and its documentation more accessible to the community.
As you may have seen, new Weblate components have appeared recently, namely Siril Application 1.2 and User documentation 1.2. They are meant to reflect the fact that the code now has a new stable branch (1.2, we released 1.2.0-RC1 on June 1st) and a developement branch (that we bumped to 1.3).

In practice, what does it change for translations?
Pretty much nothing. We kindly ask you to continue translating the usual components (Siril Application and User documentation) as the common messages should be transferred to the 1.2 components seamlessly (that's the hope!). If you're finished with tranlasting the dev component and the 1.2 one has missing translations, it will mean that the strings have diverged and that the stable 1.2 branch needs to cater for these additional translations. You can just switch to the 1.2 component and translate there.
As for now, we only plan to have a dev and a stable component. When we will switch to 1.4.0 release (no worries, won't happen any time soon), we will drop the 1.2 component and all the work you've put into the current dev branch will become the new 1.4.

Documentation:

  • For files in Commands directory: do not translate the words between **. These are command options and should not be translated.
  • guilabel are button labels in the GUI. Please translate with the EXACT translation found in the application.
  • Please do not translate words inside < and >, these are links.
  • Do not convert ` to '. This is not the same and ` tokens are parsed.

Variable-pixel linear reconstruction, and more commonly referred to as Drizzle, was developed for Hubble Space Telescope (HST) work by Andy Fruchter and Richard Hook [FruchterHook1997]_, initially for the purposes of combining dithered images of the Hubble Deep Field North (HDF-N). This algorithm can be thought of as a continuous set of linear functions that vary smoothly between the optimum linear combination technique (interlacing) and shift-and-add. This often allows an improvement in resolution and a reduction in correlated noise, compared with images produced by only using shift-and-add.
La reconstruction linéaire à pixels variables, plus communément appelée Drizzle, a été développée pour le télescope spatial Hubble (HST) par Andy Fruchter et Richard Hook [FruchterHook1997]_, initialement dans le but de combiner des images avec dithering du Hubble Deep Field North (HDF-N). Cet algorithme peut être considéré comme un ensemble continu de fonctions linéaires qui varient doucement entre la technique de combinaison linéaire optimale (entrelacement) et la technique standard. Cela permet souvent d'améliorer la résolution et de réduire le bruit corrélé, par rapport aux images produites, en utilisant uniquement la technique standard.
